STEELPAN

Our Steelpan Program introduces students to one of the Caribbean’s most iconic instruments while building strong musical discipline, confidence, and performance skills. Students learn in a structured, engaging environment where they develop rhythm, melody, coordination, listening skills, and musicianship.

Whether a student is completely new to music or already has experience, the program helps them understand the steelpan through practical playing, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and basic music theory. Students are guided step by step as they learn songs, improve technique, and grow in confidence.

At Laudem, steelpan is more than an instrument — it is culture, identity, creativity, and expression. Students are encouraged to perform, work together in ensembles, and develop the discipline needed to become confident young musicians.

Program includes:

  • Steelpan technique and stick control
  • Note recognition and music reading
  • Rhythm and timing development
  • Ear training and listening skills
  • Music theory foundations
  • Caribbean and international repertoire
  • Ensemble playing and teamwork
  • Performance and recital preparation
  • Trinity exam preparation where applicable

Ideal for: Beginners, young musicians, school students, and anyone interested in learning steelpan in a structured and exciting way.
