Music THEORY

Our Music Theory Program helps students understand the language of music and build the foundation needed to become stronger, more confident musicians. Students learn how music works through rhythm, pitch, notation, scales, chords, intervals, key signatures, time signatures, listening skills, and basic composition.

This program supports every instrument and voice student by helping them read music, understand what they are playing, and connect practical performance with musical knowledge. Whether a student is learning piano, guitar, violin, steelpan, voice, percussion, or choir, music theory gives them the tools to grow faster and perform with greater confidence.

At Laudem, music theory is connected directly to real music, performance, listening, creativity, and practical musicianship. Students are encouraged to read, write, clap, sing, play, and create music so that theory becomes something they can understand and use.

A key part of the program is Trinity College London Music Theory preparation. Students are guided through the knowledge, exercises, and exam skills needed to prepare for graded theory exams. This helps them develop proper musical literacy, discipline, and internationally recognized music training.

Program includes:

  • Note reading and music notation
  • Rhythm, rests, and time signatures
  • Treble and bass clef reading
  • Scales and key signatures
  • Intervals and chords
  • Dynamics, tempo markings, and expression
